1Myth #1: Facebook ads aren’t effective.

TRUTH: I meet a lot of people who feel frustrated by Facebook advertising. A lot of them say, “Facebook ads just don’t work!” But after talking to these folks for a few minutes, I almost always diagnose the real problem.

When business owners try Facebook ads, most of them don’t use a solid system for testing out different ads and finding out what works for their audience members. They just slap up a bunch of ads, leave them up for a week, then declare their Facebook advertising experiment a failure.

That’s a shame.

When you have a clear system, Facebook ads do work – and they can absolutely get you more leads and sales. But you need to have a smart, step-by-step strategy, and you need to be willing to do the work and run some experiments on a small scale, so you can figure out what works for your target audience.

2Myth #2: Facebook ads won’t work for my business.

TRUTH: If you’re expecting to publish a couple of Facebook ads for a few days, then suddenly see a steady stream of money pouring out of your computer, you’re going to be disappointed.

Facebook ads can work for virtually ANY industry, and they’re worth testing for your business – but you need to set your expectations correctly.

Building relationships with prospects takes time, and you may need to create some awareness of your business and your brand before you start making sales.

It may also be harder to immediately create a positive return on investment when you’re selling a low-price product (and that’s the only thing you’re selling).

I tell my clients that it’s a good idea to test out Facebook advertising, to see what kind of results you can get – no matter what kind of business you run. After all, there are over 2 billion people visiting Facebook on a monthly basis, and chances are, your audience is using the site!

3Myth #3: I can’t learn this on my own. I need to hire a Facebook advertising specialist to manage my ads.

TRUTH: While you can hire someone to do your ads, that is often expensive and out of reach for some businesses.  You understand your business (including your value proposition and your target audience) better than anyone – so I recommend that you find a step-by-step system and learn how to run your own ads!

Even if you do outsource your Facebook ads, you really should know what is going on with your Ad Campaign and understand what Facebook ads are capable of doing for your business. 

The 3 Secrets to Growing Your Business
Using Facebook Ads

Secret #1Start from where you are.

Some Facebook ads course will tell you that if you’re not make $100,000 every month from your Facebook ad campaigns, you’re “doing it wrong.” That’s not my style.

Most people don’t start using Facebook ads when they already have thousands of email subscribers and a huge ads budget. They’re trying to grow their businesses, so many of them are starting off small.

You don’t need a huge budget or complicated strategies when you’re just starting out. You need to assess your current situation (including your budget) and kick off your ads strategy from that point.

If you don’t have a huge budget for ads, it’s possible to get started on just $10 a day.

If you don’t have a big email list, and can’t create lookalike audiences yet, you can start out on a smaller scale and work your way up.

The important thing it that you use what you’ve got (your current website, your content, your ad budget, and your email list), and don’t try to use advanced strategies before you’ve mastered the basics.

That said, if you have a large budget and want to start from there, that’s great, too! The important thing is that you start from where you are.

Secret #2Start small, and embrace the testing process.

I know a lot of entrepreneurs get frustrated by Facebook ads. It’s easy to get frustrated when you’re spending money every day, and not seeing results!

Most people don’t have a system for figuring out what works for their audience, and what’s going to work for their prospects and customers. They just publish ads and hope for the best.

To get the leads, conversions, and sales you’re looking for, you need a step-by-step system for figuring out the best ad strategy for your business. That includes the images, copy, ad types, and targeting that get the best results for you.

And the only way to find the best ad strategy for your business is to start small and test the heck out your ads.

For most businesses, I recommend you start by testing your ads for four days at around $10 a day. If your ad isn’t producing results, shut it off and try something else!

Once you’ve tested your ads and found a message that resonates with your prospects, you can ramp up your budget and introduce that ad to a larger audience.

When you have a plan for figuring out what works, your stress level goes way down, and doing Facebook ads becomes a lot easy. Most of my students even say it’s fun!

Secret #3Be selective about who you learn from.

One of the questions I get on a regular basis is, “Andrea, can’t I learn how to do Facebook ads for free?”

Yep, I’ll be the first to admit that there are a lot of articles, blog posts, and videos out there that can teach you how to slap up a couple of ads on Facebook

However, I want you to be careful who you’re learning from. A lot of people out there giving advice about Facebook advertising aren’t actually experts….they’re just people who have decided to teach Facebook ads to people.

You can get some really bad advice online. Some free training sites recommend using ad types that are more expensive and less effective, and you’ll often end up wasting money and time if you take their advice.

Many sites don’t update their content on a regular basis, either – which means the advice they’re giving isn’t up to date, and doesn’t reflect that Facebook’s latest rules. The dangers are real, too – Facebook regularly bans people for not following their regulations!

No matter who you learn from online, you want to make your teacher knows what they’re talking about and is giving up-to-date information on how to succeed with Facebook ads.

Otherwise, the “free” information you get online could result in thousands of dollars of lost ad dollars and hundreds of hours of wasted time.

“Is this course for beginners?”

Yes, if you’re a beginner with Facebook ads, or you fall into the “intermediate” category, this is the perfect course for you. We touch on advanced topics in the course, but super advanced material isn’t our focus.

“How long will I have access to the course?”

Your initial course fee covers the first year of access to the learning modules and the Facebook community. After that, you pay just $397 a year to get free updates and continued access to the program (at both the basic and agency levels).

“How long does it take to complete the material?”

This varies widely from student to student, and the course is entirely self-paced. You have one full year to complete the course (or you can get more time, if you renew for an additional year!)

The program includes around 15 to 20 hours of video training. I also offer transcripts and slides, so you can consume the content in different ways. You can easily complete the course in your spare time So you can do this in your spare time if you have a full time job.

“What is the difference between the agency package and the basic package?”

Everything in the Basic version is included in the Agency version. The Agency version also includes additional training on building your own business running Facebook ads for clients. This section includes things like proposal templates, report templates, lessons on pricing your services, and advice on getting new clients.

“How current is the content of FB Advertising Secrets?”

I update the course at least twice a year (you get access to all the updates during the 1-year access for the course). The most recent update was in December 2017, and at that point, everything in the course was updated.
